Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:

  1. The City of Dunedin has been dedicated to environmental protection for decades and continues to develop goals and plans for a more sustainable future. It recently formed a master plan which highlights all of the city’s needs over the next decade. Dunedin’s Resilient Environmental Action Master Plan or DREAM outlines plans to address equity, conservation of natural resources, and economic prosperity. As part of this effort, the city is asking residents to take the following five actions: Certify your yard, share resources with neighbors, encourage telecommuting, take the “Reduce Your Use” pledge, and use a footprint calculator to see what impact you have on the planet. Read more details on the city’s website. (Dunedin Gov)
  2. Brunched is a unique event offering guests the opportunity to sample unlimited brunch bites provided by Tampa Bay area restaurants. Drinks will be served and a Bloody Mary Battle will allow you to vote on your favorite, awarding the winning restaurant for having Tampa Bay’s Ultimate Bloody Mary. Right now the only Dunedin participant is HEW Chophouse of the Fenway Hotel. Brunched will be held on February 19th at the Mahaffey Theater. Tickets start at $50 and are available online. (Brunched Tampa Bay)
  3. Over 100 Pinellas County students are featured in the Surrealist Exhibition at the Dali Museum. Their 2-D and 3-D works of art are based on this year’s theme, “Metamorphic Moment.” Several students from Dunedin Middle School and High School have pieces in the exhibit, including eighth-graders Anabella Garnica and Sophia Valentino, freshman Alicia Marcial, sophomores Rian Schultz and Sarah Gerber, juniors Sara Hasne and Sara Smuk, and seniors Avery Krebs and Maya Rossi. The exhibit will be displayed until March 6. (The Dali)
