4 COVID outbreaks seen at assisted living facilities, outbreaks resolved at CU Boulder – Boulder Daily Camera

Four new coronavirus outbreaks were recently reported at Boulder County assisted-living facilities.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment releases its COVID-19 outbreak data every Wednesday.

A new COVID-19 outbreak was determined at AltaVita Memory Centre in Longmont Dec. 6. It involved one resident case and two staff member cases, according to CDPHE data.

Officials with the facility did not respond to requests for comment prior to publication Tuesday.

This is the second COVID-19 outbreak determined at AltaVita Memory Centre.

On Jan. 13, a COVID-19 outbreak was determined at the facility which involved 16 resident cases, 17 staff cases and five resident deaths. It was resolved March 16, according to CDPHE data.

The second recent outbreak was determined Dec. 6 at Balfour at Longmont. It involved one resident case and one staff member case.

Officials with Balfour did not respond to requests for comment before publication Tuesday.

This is the second COVID-19 outbreak determined at Balfour’s Longmont location, according to state data.

The first outbreak at the facility in Longmont was determined Jan. 4 and involved one resident case and four staff member cases, according to state data. It was resolved Feb. 11.

A COVID-19 outbreak was determined Dec. 3 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Boulder, formally ManorCare Health Services. It involved two staff member cases.

Officials with assisted-living facility did not respond to requests for comment before publication Tuesday.

This is the fifth outbreak reported at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, according to state data.

According to state data, the first outbreak was determined Jan. 7 and involved 76 resident cases, 36 staff member cases and 23 resident deaths. It was resolved March 19.

A second outbreak was determined April 26 and involved two staff member cases, according the CDPHE data. It was resolved the same month.

The third COVID-19 outbreak was determined Aug. 19 and involved two resident cases and one staff case. It was resolved Sept. 23 with seven resident cases and two staff member cases.

The most recent outbreak before December, was determined Oct. 7. It involved three staff member cases and was resolved Oct. 28, according to state data.

The fourth recent outbreak was determined Dec. 2 at Linden Place Health and Rehabilitation Center in Longmont, formally Applewood Living Center. The outbreak involved two staff member cases.

Officials with the facility did not respond to requests for comment before publication Tuesday.

This is the fifth outbreak reported at Linden Place, according to CDPHE data.

The first was determined May 23, 2020 and involved five resident cases and one staff member case. It was resolved July 2, 2020, according to state data.

The next outbreak was determined Dec. 1, 2020 and involved 85 resident cases, 49 staff member cases, 16 resident deaths and one staff member death. It was resolved Feb. 1.

The third outbreak was determined March 10 and involved one resident case and one staff member case. According to CDPHE data, it was resolved the same month.

The fifth COVID-19 outbreak was determined April 14 at Linden Place. It involved one resident case and four staff member cases, according to CDPHE data. It was resolved May 13.

According to state data, seven previously reported COVID-19 outbreaks in Boulder County are still active.

Two recent outbreaks have been resolved, according the CDPHE data.

The outbreak at the University of Colorado Boulder Recreation Center was resolved Dec 6. It involved five attendee cases, according to CDPHE data.

On June 1, the state determined that CU’s COVID-19 outbreak, the largest in Colorado, was resolved. It involved 264 staff member cases and 3,534 student cases.

A COVID-19 outbreak at Balfour Retirement Community in Louisville was resolved Dec. 3. It had two resident cases and one staff member case.
