FARGO — Due to the growing threat posed by the delta variant of COVID-19, Bethany Retirement Living will now require COVID-19 vaccinations for all employees, volunteers, vendors and contractors.

Due to age or underlying conditions, residents and patients at nursing homes and assisted living facilities are at greater risk of severe illness if they contract COVID-19. Exposure to the coronavirus can be reduced significantly through universal COVID-19 vaccinations.

More than 93% of Bethany employees are already vaccinated — among the highest vaccination rates among North Dakota long-term care facilities. Requiring vaccination among all employees will help protect those who live and work at Bethany.

Unvaccinated Bethany employees will need to begin the vaccination series by Sept. 15 and complete the series by Oct. 15. Beginning Aug. 31, all new employees will need to have received the COVID-19 vaccine. Additionally, contractors, vendors and volunteers entering Bethany buildings will be required to be vaccinated by Sept. 15.
