DC Council gun violence roundtable set for Thursday

Councilmembers will hold an event with government witnesses Thursday to discuss gun violence in DC. While shootings on 14th Street NW and at the Nationals stadium have made national news recently, the roundtable will focus on a program called Building Blocks DC that targets areas that see the most gunshots.  (Bailey Vogt / City Paper)

Fairfax considers vaccine mandate for employees

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted to explore how to include a vaccine mandate in a return-to-work plan for the county’s 12,500 employees this fall. The proposal would allow unvaccinated employees to return to work, but would require them to wear masks and be tested weekly for COVID-19.  (Antonio Olivo / Post)
