Callahan Breaks Ground on 440-Unit NYC Waterfront Project – Multi-Housing News
Callahan Construction Managers has broken ground on a 440-unit project at 57 Alexander St. in Yonkers, N.Y. Rose Associates is the owner of the development, whereas Perkins Eastman serves as the architect of the project that is expected to be delivered in phases next year.
Spanning across 4 acres, the seven-story development is set to encompass a range of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments and a two-level podium garage. Common-area amenities are slated to include an outdoor heated pool, a roof deck with grilling stations, a fitness center, a golf simulator, a game room and a coworking resident lounge.
According to Yardi Matrix data, 10 percent of the units will be affordable.
The upcoming community will be located on the Hudson River waterfront, within walking distance of several transit options, including the Yonkers Metro North commuter rail and the Amtrak train.
The transit-oriented community will be Callahan’s first New York City residential project. Last year, the company’s White Plains office started work on a senior living project in Basking Ridge, N.J., in partnership with LCB Senior Living. Callahan and LCB teamed up in 2020 as well, when they completed a 90-unit assisted living and memory care facility in Hingham, Mass.
