SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – On Good Morning San Diego, KUSI’s Jenny Milkowski got to catch up with he inspirational Brad Snyder, an athlete with the Challenged Athletes Foundation, to talk about his story and his accomplishments.

He was clearing an IED after an explosion in Afghanistan when another IED went off, on September 7, 2011. He ended up losing both eyes and suffered a shattered eardrum.

Brad Snyder was the captain of the swim team at the Naval Academy so after his injury, he hit the pool. He ended up winning two Gold Medals and one silver medal in swimming in 2012 in London at the Paralympics. He won the 400 meter freestyle Gold Medal exactly one year after losing both eyes in the explosion..
