Planning for retirement starts with thinking about your retirement goals and how long you have to meet those goals. Real World Retirement Planning, presented by the Fort Worth Public Library and the Financial Planning Association, is a one-hour virtual workshop that will provide tools needed to get started toward those future goals.

At noon on Wednesday, June 9, via Zoom, Jean Keener of Keener Financial Planning will take attendees through the basics of financial planning. Keener will cover topics such as:

The benefits of planning for retirement include peace of mind, balancing enjoyment of life preretirement with paying it forward for your future self, and the flexibility of knowing when to stop or reduce work and how you handle unexpected expenses.

An important focus for Financial Planning Association Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter is its mission to promote financial health locally through financial literacy. Services provided include one-on-one financial counseling and planning, seminars and workshops on a variety of topics such as budgeting, financial literacy, insurance, savings and debt management.
