Motorists in the Four Points area should expect traffic delays overnight June 8-9 beginning at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. as the Texas Department of Transportation performs intermittent lane closures for the installation of traffic signals at the intersection of RM 2222 and Sitio Del Rio Boulevard, and the intersection of RM 2222 and McNeil Drive.
This work, which was pushed back a week due to inclement weather, is associated with a major road project in the area. State crews are adding an eastbound lane on RM 2222 from Bonaventure Drive to Sitio Del Rio Boulevard and a westbound lane from Ribelin Ranch Drive to River Place Boulevard. Turn lanes and medians are also being added in this area, according to a TxDOT news release.
Drivers should pay attention to signs in the area directing traffic and should expect project delays in case of inclement weather, according to TxDOT.
Also in the area, work continues on construction of a bypass to allow northbound motorists on RM 620 to avoid the intersection of RM 2222 and RM 620 at Bullick Hollow Road. The project consists of adding an outside northbound merge lane along RM 620 from Steiner Ranch Boulevard to the new bypass road, which is under construction about a mile north of Steiner Ranch. The 1.5-mle bypass will connect RM 620 to RM 2222.
