LPL Draws FAs from Wells Fargo in Texas – Financial Advisor IQ

LPL Financial says a pair of advisors has joined its network from Wells Fargo Advisors.

Richard DeYoung and Jessica Boehm have launched a new independent practice in The Woodlands, Texas, Highland Wealth Partners, which has affiliated with breakaway advisor platform LPL Strategic Wealth Services.

The pair previously served $280 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets, according to LPL.

“In naming our practice, we chose ‘Highland’ because it really fits with our vision of elevating the financial planning experience. We want to continue to raise the bar for ourselves and provide our clients with elevated, personalized service experiences,” Boehm said in a statement.

The pair chose to affiliate with LPL because of its support and commitment to clients, according to DeYoung.

“It was important for us to be with a partner that prioritized our clients’ needs and interests above everything else,” DeYoung said. “LPL’s comprehensive support, technology and research, along with their transparency as a publicly traded company and dedication to independence and choice, allows us to provide clients with a wide range of diligently evaluated, non-proprietary investment products.”

LPL says advisors on its Strategic Wealth Services platform have access to its integrated wealth management. The advisors also get transition support and ongoing strategic, administrative, marketing and chief financial officer support, according to LPL.

“With Strategic Wealth Services, everything is already built in and we’re not on our own. This way, we can focus on what we do best and enjoy being advisors,” Boehm said in a statement.

DeYoung says it was also important for the practice to be able to remove investment minimums, as well as offer enhanced technology and planning tools.

DeYoung has been in the industry for 29 years, starting with Prudential Securities in 1992, and has been registered with seven firms, including LPL from 2002 to 2009, according to his BrokerCheck record.

Boehm has been in the industry for 14 years, starting with Proequities in 2007, and has been registered with six firms, BrokerCheck shows.
