Oroville resident places third in company-wide singing competition – Chico Enterprise-Record

OROVILLE — Prestige Senior Living L.L.C. held its company-wide singing competition called “Prestige Sings” for a second year in 2021, and for a second consecutive year, an Oroville resident placed in the top four.

Oroville resident Randell Norton, 56, placed third in this year’s Prestige Sings competition this year after placing fourth in the inaugural Prestige Sings competition in 2020. The results were announced Wednesday as Norton was one-of-four final contestants of 30 entries entered into the resident division. There are two categories in the competition which include “staff sings” and “residents sing.”

In this year’s competition Norton was required to sing three songs, and advanced through a voting system which enabled qualifiers to advance. Norton sang the songs, “Amazing Grace,” originally by John Newton, “That’s Life,” made famous by Frank Sinatra, and “I Come to the Garden Alone,” a hymn written in 1913 by C. Austin Miles.
