Part 2 of The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra’s concert of the music of Horace Silver will air today on Jazz Northwest. This is the second part of the opening concert of the 27th season of the SRJO. Director Michael Brockman assembled a dozen big band arrangements of Horace Silver compositons, mostly composed for and first recorded by Silver’s Quintet in the 60s, 70s and 80s. The first part of this concert was broadcast on November 14 and can be heard here.
