Priciest house on Atlantic Isle has gold-leaf fresco and onyx staircase – New York Post
A property billed as the priciest listing ever on Atlantic Isle has hit the market, The Post can exclusively reveal.
The eight-bedroom, 6½-bathroom “Villa ‘Il Sogno,” located 10 miles north of Miami Beach, offers a gold-leaf fresco of Greek gods and a grand onyx staircase — for a whopping price of $11.5 million, according to the listing.
“When you step inside this home it takes your breath away. The sheer size and intricate details will transport you into feeling like you have stepped into a palace,” Alexandra Peters with The Team at ONE Sotheby’s International Realty told The Post.
Enter the 7,000-square-foot palace through Hungarian mahogany doors to a 35-foot foyer with a gold-leaf fresco painted by a Chilean artist painting in the French style, according to the listing.
The book-matched onyx floors are sourced from Italy, Pakistan and Bolivia, and the wood floors come from the forests of Brazil, according to the listing.
“From the hand-painted frescos to the custom mosaic pool, grand columns and stunning open water views, there’s nothing else quite like it on the market,” Peters told The Post.
The first floor has a dining room, a media room, two bedrooms, a laundry room, a kitchen, a steam room and a sauna. It also has a red and orange bar area with a hand-carved onyx fireplace and draped double-height windows, according to the listing.
Upstairs are six loft-style bedrooms. The primary bedroom suite has a tri-sectioned dressing room and a marble bathroom with gold finishes and a hand-painted mural above the tub, according to the listing.
“The master bedroom has a massive dressing room that is a masterpiece in itself. The closet is sectioned off in three areas with windowed glass doors to directly peer into the closet for easy access to clothing, handbags and shoes. It really rivals those insane closets you see in the movies!” Peters told The Post.
The 0.2-acre lot has a pool, pillars, water views and a dock, according to the listing.
The home north of Bal Harbour was built by its current owner, kitchen manufacturer Salvatore Tizzoni, in 2005.
“Atlantic Isle is a hidden gem, a private island community with only about 50 waterfront homes and private beach access. It offers an American Riviera lifestyle,” Peters told The Post.
Alexandra Peters, Clarissa Gurgulino, Charles Morganstern, Adriana Faerman with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty have the listing.
