A senior living community building was evacuated Friday. More than 100 residents could be out of their homes for several weeks.

UNIVERSITY CITY (KMOV.com) — A senior living community building was evacuated Friday. More than 100 residents could be out of their homes for several weeks.

Residents at the Parkview Place Apartments told News 4 there was a water main break in the building, causing an evacuation. Metro buses were on the scene and keeping residents warm Friday afternoon.

Firefighters said there is extensive damage to the basement and first floor of the building. Officials are working to find temporary housing for about 130 residents.
