Stocks fell sharply, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average entering correction territory Thursday, as investors reacted to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In midday trading, the Dow dropped 535 points, or 1.6%, after the index ended down 464 points at 33,131 on Wednesday. The S&P 500 slid 0.7%, with the Nasdaq Composite recouping its earlier sharp declines to trade up 0.3%.
