Stocks jumped Wednesday as some investors piled back into beaten-down equities amid optimism for a diplomatic solution to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Shortly after the open, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lifted 607 points, or 1.8%, after the index ended 184 points lower in a volatile Tuesday trading session. The S&P 500 rose 1.9%, with the Nasdaq Composite up 2.2%.
