Two new coronavirus outbreaks reported at Boulder County assisted-living centers – Boulder Daily Camera

Two new coronavirus outbreaks were reported this week at Boulder County assisted-living centers.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment releases its COVID-19 outbreak data every Wednesday.

A coronavirus outbreak was determined on Tuesday at Waneka Park, formally known as The Legacy Assisted Living in Lafayette. The outbreak involved four resident cases and three staff cases.

Officials with the organization did not respond to requests for comment before the publication deadline Thursday.

According to the state, this is the third outbreak at Waneka Park.

The first outbreak was determined April 20 and involved two staff cases and two resident cases. It was resolved May 17.

The second outbreak was determined Aug. 3 and involved three resident cases. It was resolved Aug. 16, according to CDPHE data.

The other outbreak reported this week was determined Monday at MorningStar Assisted Living and Memory Care in Boulder. It involved two staff cases, according to state data.

Officials with MorningStar did not respond to requests for comment before publication deadline Thursday.

This is the third COVID-19 outbreak reported at MorningStar in Boulder, according to CDPHE data.

The first COVID-19 outbreak was determined Dec. 15, 2020, and involved eight resident cases, seven staff cases and two resident deaths. It was resolved Feb. 17.

The second outbreak was determined May 3 and involved one resident case and one staff case, according to CDPHE data. It was resolved June 7.
